Costco may soon sell salmon fed GE-yeast

A recent Civil Eats story about sustainable salmon farming pioneer Verlasso highlights the company’s soaring growth in sales, and food giant Costco’s test of Verlasso salmon in stores last May. Verlasso uses feed based on genetically modified yeast that delivers Omega-3 benefits, and has enabled Verlasso to significantly reduce its dependence on wild-caught fish. Read article here.
