How aquaculture fits in to the world’s growing food needs
SeafoodSource.com's Jason Holland discusses the growing contribution of aquaculture in feeding the world's population as it makes its way to to 9 billion people by 2050. "Because farmed fish produce edible yields superior to swine, poultry and ruminants, based on considerably lower feed conversion ratios (FCRs), aquaculture is expected to play an increasingly important role in the provision of high-quality, nutritious protein in the years ahead", he wrote.
