Land-based aquaculture set for explosion

Land-based aquaculture should not be seen as a threat to traditional cage culture but a way to expand capacity where growth is restricted, according to Anders Milde Gjendemsjo, director of aquaculture consulting at Deloitte.  Gjendemsjo, author of a new study on the costs of land¬based salmon production, told IntraFish's Fish Farming International. “"There is room in the salmon industry for different farming systems."
