Sustainable Blue hitches on global demand for local fish

A land-based salmon farmer in Nova Scotia "won a strong endorsement from the Halifax-based Ecology Action Centre, which said its proven and “world-leading technology” had defied the aquaculture industry’s long-time skepticism regarding the commercial viability of land-based salmon farms." Interestingly, the Ecology Action Centre has campaigned long and hard against AquaBounty, a company that has championed land-based salmon farming since 1995, promoting all of the environmental and other benefits associated with this progressive production technology. The sticking point - Ecology Action Centre doesn't like AquaBounty's innovative AquAdvantage Salmon, which makes land-based salmon farming more financially viable. Read article here.
